Gluten and other protein raw materials

Following the death of a number of dogs and cats in the United States, the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) highlighted the presence of melamin in pet food and its ingredients such as gluten. The producers of these products reacted very considerate and responsible. They recalled their products from the market and started in intensive search for the source of this contamination. SOFIA GmbH is the first laboratories that can offer
two independent methods for the determination of Melamine: at first the
GC/MS-method published by the FDA and secondly an LC/MS/MS-method. This allows
us to confirm the results produced by one of these methods using the other one.
Additionally SOFIA succeed to integrate the determination of cyanuric acid into
the GC/MS-method.
